This article is about Jim Dator’s visit to Korea in March of 2006. He addressed what futures studies is and suggested to develop Korea’s own mode for the development in the future.


2. Keynote speaking in Global Human Resource Forum

A Korean government, the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development held a Global HR Forum in Seoul on November 8th to 10th, 2006. The Forum, “Creative Korea, Global Talent, Global Prosperity”, invited 21 prestigious figures from Korea and overseas. The speakers addressed the roles of government, universities and companies in recruiting excellent manpower and how they can cooperate to encourage the capacity of Koreans.

Jim Dator joined first session, “Our future, our world: views on the future needs of business” in first track, “Views on the world of business” on the second day. On the above Website is Jim Dator’s speaking. He emphasized the new roles of university in the future. He stressed the development of new alternative energy to protect environment. In addition, he also addressed the Dream Society characterized by the combination of dream, imagination, creativity, and production, which will become the future society coming after Information and Knowledge society.
